Juicy and sweet peach is the king of summer fruits. I think. What a pleasure when you bite into a perfectly ripe fresh peach. The peach is already delicious enough as fresh, but grilled peaches will also spicing up your dishes. It’s so easy but becomes the perfect sweet refreshing dessert after eating BBQ or hotdog.
Which Peach Should I Use for Grilled Peaches?
I like to use yellow peaches. Freestone peaches are usually best for cooking or baking. Freestone peaches are easy to separate from the flesh. If you are using clingstone peaches, you can scoop out the pit with measuring spoons. White peaches tend to be too soft for baking. However, you can still use them for grilling if you like a white peach flavor. I love white peaches so much, so I make white peach compote every summer. Which Grill Should I Use?
Both gas grill and charcoal grill can make perfect grilled peaches. I also use a cast iron pan or griddle pan when I make this dish indoors. Make sure to place the peaches on the direct heat on the grill until the peach gets nice grill marks. Then move to indirect heat after you flip the peaches. For the cast iron pan, lower the heat after flipping the peaches over.
Leftover Grilled Peaches
These grilled peaches have not added any sugar or honey on the top. So you can use the leftovers for salad, oatmeal, or yogurt. Ricotta cheese, mascarpone cheese, or burrata cheese are always perfect combinations with peaches. It will become great appetizers with olive oil and honey on top of them. So grill your peaches as many as you have.

Ingredients
- 3 peaches
- 1 tablespoon oil (canola, coconut, or avocado oil)
- Vanilla Ice Cream
- Caramel Sauce Miso
Instructions
- Wash peaches and slice in half lengthwise, then remove pits.
- Preheat your grill and grease grill grates with oil. If using a grill pan, heat on the stove with medium heat. Brush the cut sides of the peaches with oil.
- When the grill is hot enough, place peaches cut side down onto the grill. Cook until grill marks appear (normally 4 to 5 minutes). Make sure peaches are on the direct heat. Turn the peaches 90-degree angle, cook until grill marks appear.
- Brush oil on the tops of the peach then flips back over the cut side up. Move to indirect heat and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until the peaches get soften.
- Remove the peaches from the grill. Serve them with vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce.
Notes
- Use a high smoking point oil, like canola, avocado, or coconuts oil is better. Butter will cause the peaches to burn before they finish cooking.
- Do not rotate peaches too much in order to get the perfect grill marks on the peaches.
